Could not resolve host:; No address associated with hostname”

Recently I attempted to put in the Apache internet server in a Linux setting and obtained the next error.

[root@localhost ~]# yum set up httpd
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks Couldn't retrieve mirrorlist
error was 14: curl#6 - "Couldn't resolve host:; No tackle related to hostname"
One of many configured repositories failed (Unknown),
and yum would not have sufficient cached information to proceed.
At this level the one secure factor yum can do is fail. There are a number of methods to work "repair" this:
Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to repair the issue.
Reconfigure the baseurl /and many others. for the repository, to level to a working
upstream. That is most frequently helpful if you're utilizing a more moderen distribution launch than is supported by the repository (and the packages for the earlier distribution launch nonetheless work).
Disable the repository, so yum will not use it by default. Yum will then
simply ignore the repository till you completely allow it once more or use --enablerepo for non permanent utilization: yum-config-manager --disable <repoid>
Configure the failing repository to be skipped, whether it is unavailable.
Be aware that yum will attempt to contact the repo. when it runs most instructions, so must try to fail every time (and thus. yum can be be a lot slower).
If it's a very non permanent drawback although, that is typically a pleasant compromise:
yum-config-manager --save --setopt=<repoid>.skip_if_unavailable=true Can't discover a legitimate baseurl for repo: base/7/x86_64
[root@localhost ~]#

This normally occurs when the server can’t connect with the Web as a result of the title server can’t be discovered.

Take a look at /and many others/resolv.conf file. I had the next

; generated by /usr/sbin/dhclient-script
search localdomain

Go away “search localdomain” on the backside, so one thing like under

; generated by /usr/sbin/dhclient-script
search localdomain

Save the file and attempt to run it yum. It was all good for me.

Comment: nameserver could be completely different, as proven within the instance above. The purpose right here is to maintain localhost on the backside and issues ought to transfer.
