configure: error: C compiler cc is not found

Final week I used to be organising Nginx and whereas compiling I bumped into an error, which I managed to repair as follows.

I believed to doc it so others can profit from it.

[root@chandan nginx-1.6.3]# ./configure --prefix=/apps/nginx --add-module=./ngx_cache_purge-2.3 --add-module=./headers-more-nginx-module-0.25/
checking for C compiler ... not discovered
./configure: error: C compiler cc shouldn't be discovered

Resolution

This often occurs if the C/GCC compiler shouldn’t be put in in your server. All it’s good to do is set up gcc to resolve this.

# yum set up gcc

If you’re utilizing CentOS 8, you need to use the DNF command.

# dnf set up gcc

As soon as put in, you may confirm it as beneath.

# gcc
gcc: deadly error: no enter recordsdata
compilation terminated.
